Second Race Struggle

April 17th was a very difficult day for the Ransom Racing team.  The day did not start off well from the being.  The first practice Taylor had a very loose racecar. As the day went on the worse the car got. Taylor did everything he could, but he couldn't knock off fast laps.  "The car was the loosest it has ever been", said Taylor. The crew worked hard trying to figure out a solution to the extreme handling issue.  Taylor and his team did what they could for the day. Starting 10th in the 15 car field, Taylor was not to pleased with the car, but knew he and his team gave it thier all. Taylor would start the race just to run into the car just getting looser every lap. He evenutally brought it in for some much need adjustments. Taylor would go 2 laps down for the green flag pit stop, but he would still come back to finish 12th. Taylor's crew cheif has been looking for answers and thinks he might have found the problem. He thinks there is something in the rear end that is not working right which is making the handling ill. Taylor and his team will work hard to find out and fix the problem before the next race on May 1st.

First Race Overview

Radford, VA - April 3rd was the day that Taylor and his team had been waiting for since the end of the season last year.  Anxious and excited, his team were prepared and ready to see the orange Ace Repair and Towing, out on the asphalt of Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, Va again.  The day went well, being that Taylor had not been on the track since last september, other than the open practice a week prior to the first race. He was still getting back in to the swing of things. The longer the day went, the better the car was. Taylor ran his fast lap of the day during qualifying which is always a good thing. Starting 6th Taylor was please with the car and could smell a top 5 finish. After the green flag, the pack of cars dove into turn one. The field got jammed up, and Taylor made a little contact with another car knocking his bumper bar back into his tire. It would affect his handling but it wouldn't be the only thing. Other cars were putting oil and other liquids on the track. Taylor's car would be ill handled the whole race. It almost seemed like he was racing on dirt, the way he would come out of the turns sideways. He would still pull of a top 10, finishing 8th.

Taylor and his team are preparing for the next race on April 17th at Motor Mile Speedway. So come on out and watch him in action!
